Requested 2027 changes, insurer by insurer

Each card below is one issuer's small group filing for 2027. The requested change is what the insurer asked for. The final change stays empty until the source publishes one, and an empty final change does not mean zero and does not mean approved.

No final 2027 change is published for any filing in this snapshot.

Both files carry the filing year, the exact insurer name, the source label and URL, the filing status and the snapshot date, so a number keeps its qualifications after it leaves this page. No email address, no form and no sign-up.

Changes filed in earlier years

These rows are the change each insurer filed for that plan year. A filed change is not an approved change, and a status such as Submission Complete describes where a filing sat in the process, not a regulator's verdict on the price. Read them next to the current requested figures, not as a before and after.

Check any number at the source

Every row includes a filing ID and a link to the CMS search or an annual ZIP archive. To locate its source data:

  1. Open the CMS rate review search: https://ratereview.healthcare.gov/
  2. Set State to Kansas.
  3. Set Market to Small Group.
  4. Set the year to the plan year you want, then run the search.
  5. Open an insurer's filing to read the requested change, the CMS change range and the status.

For historical rows, download the linked CMS public-use ZIP for that year and locate the filing ID in Worksheet 2. The live search and archived files have different reporting dates and coverage.

Two separate companies with similar names file small group rates in Kansas, so check the issuer ID printed with each card before you quote a figure. This page shows insurer names exactly as the source publishes them.

Methodology

  • Where the numbers come from. Current requests come from the public CMS rate review search for Kansas, Small Group. History comes from the linked CMS public-use ZIP files, using Worksheet 2 field RT_CHG_CUM_SUB (Submission Level Rate Increase %, cell E22). Both feed one checked data file for the page and downloads.
  • Which filing a year shows. History includes Annual filings with a January 1 effective date in each linked snapshot. Each submission tracking number appears once. Quarterly filings, other effective dates and revisions absent from those snapshots are not included. This selection is not every filing an insurer made.
  • Why there is no average. The source repeats an insurer level change across that insurer's plan rows, so averaging those rows would weight the result by how many plans a company files. There is no Kansas-wide average on this page for that reason, and none in the downloads.
  • Requested, final and filed. A requested change is what an insurer asked for. A final change is one the source publishes as final, and it stays empty until then. A filed change in the history table is what an insurer submitted for that year. None of the three is an approval unless the source says so, and we never read approval out of a filing status.
  • Rounding. Rate changes are shown as percentages, to two decimal places at most. Historical source fractions are multiplied by 100: a source value of 0.0997 is 9.97%. A blank remains unknown, never zero.
  • No causes. This page reports what was filed. It does not explain why a number moved, and it does not forecast the next one.

What this page does not tell you

  • ACA-compliant, fully insured Kansas small group filings only. Self-funded, level-funded and large group coverage are not included.
  • CMS search results omit products whose rates are not changing, and issuers can add or drop plans and products while a filing is under review.
  • A missing issuer or year is not a zero change and is not proof that an insurer left the market.
  • What any single employer will pay. A premium change for your group moves with plan design, geography, employee ages, who enrolls and the benefits you offer, so a filed percentage is a market signal and not your renewal.
  • Whether a filing was approved. Approval is a regulatory decision published by the reviewing regulator. A filed or requested rate change alone does not establish regulatory approval.

Data selection notes

History uses the January 1 Annual Kansas Small Group filings in each linked CMS public-use snapshot. It is not an archive of every revision or quarterly change.

Historical percentages are the template-calculated Submission Level Rate Increase % (RT_CHG_CUM_SUB, Worksheet 2 cell E22), multiplied by 100. That value repeats across plan rows; each submission is counted once, with no average across plans or insurers.

Historical source status does not establish regulatory approval. These figures are filed changes in dated CMS snapshots, not confirmed final approvals or actual employer renewals.

CMS public search excludes products whose rates are not changing. Products and plans may be added or dropped during review; a missing issuer-year is not proof of withdrawal.

The CMS portal and downloadable public-use files have different reporting dates and coverage. A zero in an historical file is preserved as zero; a missing final value stays unknown.

How this page is refreshed

This is a dated snapshot, not a live feed. Nothing on this page updates on its own, and no automated connection to any regulator exists behind it. A refresh checks the public search and the relevant public-use files, replaces the checked dataset and rebuilds the page and downloads. The snapshot date records our source check, not the filing submission date or the effective date of any rate change.
